Avionics 2020

Client : Thales
Lieu : Paris Air Show_Le Bourget 2013
Date de livraison : Jun. 2013

"Avionics 2020" (or  Proteus) is a 2020 foresight of a civil aviation cockpit.
Presented at the Paris Air Show in 2013, it is part of a dynamic innovation process initiated by Thales Avionics in le Haillan (near Bordeaux) to which Félix et Associés has been associated (Odicis, Innovation Hub…).
In 2014, the project obtained the “Observeur du design” label (APCI) , as well as a Red Dot “Best of the Best” award (Red dot design award)

This user-centred cockpit concept makes the human-machine interaction and use of touch-sensitive technology optimal from an ergonomic point of view, especially in terms of user experience (for the pilot).
The design process gave rise to the implementation of new solutions: mobility and geometry of the dashboard, integration of spatialised sound in seats, graphic environment enhancing the perception of alert situations and of a unique screen surface.
The cockpit, its interactive objects and built-in interfaces are designed in coherence, in favour of both visual and usage continuity.

Citation :

Thales Avionics initiated its collaboration with Félix et Associés more than 10 years ago. During these last 10 years, Félix et Associés has accompanied us in all the dimensions of our expansion, from product design to innovation and strategic foresight, through space design. In my opinion, Félix et Associés embodies before all a sense of ethics, strong analysis skills and remarkably high standards of quality in the design business. The duration of our collaboration is probably an even clearer demonstration of these qualities than the different prizes we have been awarded together (“Janus de la Prospective”, “Red Dot Design Award / Best of the Best”).
